Families for Literacy
The Library’s Families For Literacy program encourages parents to read aloud to their children at home through special storytimes and book giveaways. It is designed for adult learners who have children 5 years or younger living in their homes, regardless of their relationship to the children.
In addition,
one book per month will be given to the child's brothers or sisters, regarless of age.
We want to encourage families to start building their own home libraries. In this way, the children learn to enjoy books while growing up so that, by the time they reach Kindergarten, they will look forward to more books in the classroom!!
